"PRC 101: The Most Important Agency You've Never Heard Of"
On October 23rd, the Utton Center co-hosted a Lunch & Learn lecture with the Natural Resources and Environmental Law Program and the Environmental Law Society. Commissioner Cynthia Hall and Cydney Beadles, Director of the Legal Division at the Public Regulation Commission of New Mexico gave a talk about their career paths, the PRC, and its importance for the state in regards to energy regulation and policy.

About the Speakers
Cynthia Hall has served as District 1 Commissioner and Vice-Chair of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission since January 2017. She was elected from a wholly-urban district with a strong mandate to support clean, affordable energy. Commissioner Hall holds a J.D. from Southwestern Law School. She was the first woman attorney in the general counsel's office of Sandia National Laboratories.
Cydney Beadles is the director of the Legal Division of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and has represented the Commission staff in energy, telecommunications, and water regulatory matters. She has served the public interest at the NMPRC for almost 23 years. Ms. Beadles received her B.A. from Stanford University and her J.D. degree from the University of California, Hastings College Law.
