On November 10th, the Utton Transboundary Resources Center in conjunction with the University of New Mexico School of Law, held its first hybrid CLE. Our CLE, Functional, Ethical & Environmental Considerations for Using Artificial Intelligence in Legal Practice, featured incredible presentations from Law School staff members Professor Jen Laws, Professor Sherri Thomas, and Professor Matthew Murrel. The CLE began with an introduction to AI and the lexicon of this burgeoning field of study and use, before honing into some of the ways AI is affecting the legal world. Students and working professionals were informed of ways AI needs to be improved in more nuanced fields, such as environmental and Tribal Law, while also learning about what considerations they should begin implementing when using AI in their own practices. We are so grateful for our wonderful speakers.
If you were unable to attend this event, don't worry! The full CLE was recorded and will soon be made available as a self-study course on the UNM School of Laws website. To be alerted to when this CLE is made available, watch for an update on our homepage.
